THE HOMES WE CARRY paints the portrait of a family torn apart between Germany, Mozambique, and South Africa. At the center is Sarah, an Afro-German mother, who wants her little daughter to have the relationships she lacked as a child. Therefore, she travels with her to Southern Africa, where both her own father and Luana’s dad are waiting for them.

"What I like most about being Afro-German is that I can gain from both cultures. Even though I
didn't grow up in both cultures, I can take something from both and that makes me so versatile."
